In Whatcom County, in the northwest corner of the state, you will find the wonderful City of Ferndale, Washington. Ferndale is home to approximately 12,700 residents and is situated near the Nooksack River on the Interstate 5 corridor. Ferndale hosts a number of community events and festival each year to keep its residents engaged and entertained. Among the locals’ favorites are the Downtown Trick or Treat, Community Wide Garage Sale, Street Festival, Music Festival and the Mud to Suds Race. In addition to great community events, Ferndale is also home to a plethora of opportunities for outdoor recreation with 49 acres of developed city parks, 8 acres dedicated to open space and 55 acres of undeveloped park properties.
Griffintown and Downtown Ferndale are situated near the Nooksack River. East of the River there is a largely industrial area. Suburban developments in Ferndale are found northwest of these areas and include homes of varying styles, sizes and ages.
